Golden Evil, a musical project by visual artist Gillian Keller, is described by the artist as “Evil Pop.”  Each song is a journey all its own, made of irresolvable flavors and sometimes themes that are contrary to themselves. 

Inspired by things from Goldfrapp to Grimes, from the Brian Jonestown Massacre to Beach House, the music is spirited, psychedelic, and melancholic.  Almost entirely electronic, the music is self produced, self composed and self recorded.  Embracing fuzz, big beats, weird objects used as percussion, and not-quite the voice of an angel, Golden Evil has been described as goth-y, layered, and dreamlike. 

 

This is the visual artist’s first foray into the non-visual realm, but she hopes you get visuals from it nonetheless.
