"Triple Eclipse"  From the "Icons" Series.

🌟In 2019 (and leading into 2020) I began work on this ICONS Series after an incredible trip to Egypt.  The unforgettable, grand sculptural art filling up every glance inspired me to use materials in my own art that I hadn't used before- old broken costume jewelry I had been hoarding, things from the craft aisle in walgreens, and iphone selfies of my face and hands in various combinations- to make something dreamy, bizarre, and ever so slightly sculptural.
 
🌟The result were these juicy, seductive, and highly textured works- mixed materials, paints, and (in one of them) photographs from Egypt.  These Icons are in an abstract space of bubbles- a space of creation and imagination.
 
🌟These are not self-portraits, though they feature my face and hands.  Rather, I've used a convenient-to-photograph visage of myself to stand as a placeholder for these icons in abstract space- perhaps Icons of energies I experienced in Egypt.
